The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) is dedicated to providing reliable electricity to the residents of Freetown. In line with our commitment to continuous improvement, we are pleased to announce an upcoming activity that will contribute to enhancing the power supply in the region. This blog post aims to inform the public about the scheduled isolation of the 33kV distribution network in Freetown for installation work at the Freetown 161 Substation. While we understand that this may cause temporary inconvenience, we assure you that the ultimate goal is to provide a more robust and efficient electricity distribution system.
Isolated Network and Work Schedule:
To facilitate the installation of support structures at the Freetown 161 Substation, it is necessary to isolate the 33kV distribution network. Our technical team will commence this crucial work on Thursday, 6th July 2023, between the hours of 10 am to 5 pm. During this period, customers residing in specific areas should anticipate temporary power outages. These outages are imperative to ensure the safety of both our customers and the technical team involved in the installation work. The affected areas include:
1. Wilberforce
2. Regent
3. Goderich to Sussex
4. Roportee
5. Wellington unto Waterloo
Objective and Benefits:
The primary objective of this activity is to complement and strengthen the ongoing 33kV Distribution Network Upgrade project.
